Visit Kaysersberg
The historic centre of Kaysersberg is easy to explore on foot. Its main street runs through a mixture of old houses, shops and quieter passages, while the ruins of Kaysersberg Castle overlook the village from above.
But the charm of Kaysersberg is not limited to its landmarks. Old signs, decorated windows, irregular façades and glimpses between buildings are just as much a part of its character.
It is a place that rewards wandering without too much of a plan.
Things to see in Kaysersberg
The Sainte-Croix Church, historic centre, fortified bridge and Kaysersberg Castle ruins are among the village’s most recognisable landmarks.
The Alsatian vineyards are never far away either. Walk beyond the centre and the streets gradually give way to vines and views across the valley.
This combination of architecture, history and vineyard landscape gives Kaysersberg its distinctive identity — and provides plenty of inspiration for FLÂNE.
Christmas in Kaysersberg
During Advent in Kaysersberg, the village takes on a different atmosphere. Houses and shopfronts are decorated, lights appear throughout the old streets and the village hosts its traditional Christmas market.
The authentic Kaysersberg Christmas market is held during the four Advent weekends, with carefully selected craftspeople around the Cour de l’Arsenal and behind the Sainte-Croix Church.
For FLÂNE, it is also one of the most inspiring moments of the year: illuminated façades, decorated windows, wooden chalets and winter scenes transform familiar streets.
