A different kind of souvenir
The idea behind Flâne started with a simple observation: souvenirs do not have to be generic objects made to be bought and forgotten. A good souvenir can carry some of the atmosphere of a place with it — the shape of a tower, a colourful façade, a village street, a landscape, a local symbol or simply a detail that brings a memory back.
Flâne approaches souvenirs as small design objects. Rather than trying to represent everything at once, each design focuses on something recognisable and memorable. Sometimes that means preserving a photograph almost as it was seen; sometimes it means reducing a subject to a simple symbol; elsewhere the same place may become a graphic poster or a more artistic interpretation.
The result is a collection built gradually from places and observations rather than from a generic catalogue of tourist imagery.
Wander slowly.
Find beauty in the details.
The name FLÂNE comes from the idea of wandering without rushing — looking around, noticing what gives a place its character and allowing small details to become part of the experience.

That way of looking at a place is also where many of the designs begin. A photograph taken while walking through a village, an unusual window, an old sign, the silhouette of a church tower or the colours of a façade can all become the starting point for a new piece.
Photography is particularly important to the process. It is not only a source of finished images, but also a way of collecting visual references: architecture, colours, light, textures and combinations that would otherwise be easy to forget.
From those references, a design can move in very different directions. Some remain close to the original photograph, while others are simplified, redrawn or reinterpreted until only the essential character remains.
This is why the different Flâne series can look quite different from one another while still belonging to the same collection. What connects them is not a single illustration style, but the same attention to place, observation and detail.
INSPIRED BY ALSACE
A region that inspires
Alsace offers an unusually rich visual language. Colourful villages sit between vineyards and hills; medieval towers rise above narrow streets; half-timbered houses, stone bridges, flowers, signs and seasonal decorations give even neighbouring towns their own character.

Some subjects are immediately recognisable — the landmarks people expect to remember from a trip. Others are much quieter: a particular house, a passage between buildings, vines climbing across a wall or the way evening light falls on a street.
Both matter to Flâne. The aim is not simply to reproduce a list of famous sights, but to build a visual collection of the region as it is actually experienced.
That also means the collection can keep growing. New places, seasons and subjects can be added gradually, allowing Flâne to remain connected to the region instead of becoming a fixed catalogue that never changes.
Each location can also be interpreted in more than one way. A photograph may become part of the Classics series, the same landmark may later appear as a simplified Symbol, and another view may inspire a Discover travel poster or a more expressive Charm design.
This gives the collection room to evolve without losing its connection to the original place.
DESIGNED & MADE IN ALSACE
From image to object
The process does not stop once the design is finished. Flâne magnets are also produced locally in small batches, keeping the transition from image to physical object as direct as possible.

Printing, finishing, cutting, pressing and assembly are handled in-house. The magnets receive a soft-touch laminated surface that gives them a smooth matte finish and makes the final object feel closer to a small design piece than to a conventional glossy souvenir.
Working in small runs also changes how the collection can develop. New designs can be tested without committing to enormous quantities, towns and subjects can be added gradually, and limited or seasonal pieces can be produced when they make sense.
The same flexibility makes collaborations possible. A photograph, visual identity, location or business can be turned into a custom magnet using the same production process as the main Flâne collection.
From the first photograph to the finished magnet, the intention remains the same: to make something simple, well considered and connected to a real place.
A souvenir is a small object, but it can stay visible for years. Flâne is designed with that in mind.

THE PERSON BEHIND FLÂNE
Hi, I’m Attila
I’m a designer and photographer based in Alsace. My background is in web design, visual communication and photography, and Flâne brings those different interests together in one project.
I have always enjoyed observing how places are put together visually — architecture, signs, colours, details and the small things that make one street or town feel different from another. Photography became a natural way of collecting those observations, long before Flâne existed.
Today, many of the photographs and references behind the collection come from those walks through Alsace. Some become products directly; others influence an illustration, a colour choice or simply the way I see the next subject.
Flâne gives me a way to combine photography, design and making physical objects — and to turn the places I enjoy photographing into something other people can take home and keep.
